Nuclear Waste under Pressure?

Yonsei University, Stanford University and the NanoCenter at the University of South Carolina are the core of a Global Research Laboratory supported by the National Research Foundation of the Korean Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MEST). Other collaborators are located at the Geophysical Laboratory of the Carnegie Institution in Washington DC and the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute
in Daejeon/Korea.
Some of the materials studied in this international research collaboration might provide a new approach to store highly active actinides either long term or be able to use them as solids in ways that could make use of their radioactivity.
